I'm a student from the accounting stream. As a very large part of our curriculum focuses on the technical knowledge in accounting, we seldom have the chance to use English. I have a love in English though. But what troubled me most is speaking English. Communicating in spoken English has been very difficult to me because I'm always worried about making errors, which is made worse by my lack of practice.

When my classmate told me there would be a new English oral course taught by native speakers next semester, I felt very excited since it was the first time I attended courses of such kind. I thought it would be an excellent opportunity to improve my communication skills, seeing that all the English courses I took were not tailored to help me handle real life conversations.

I felt relaxed when I went to my first lesson of Ann, which was totally different from the lessons I had been taking. In my opinion, while most Taiwanese teachers would only monotonously lecture on the stage and students would just industriously jot down the notes, hardly having any interactions at all, the foreign teachers are quite impromptu in terms of teaching - they would say whatever they think, regardless of the textbook content, and encourage students off the stage to share their opinions.
